Monowheel automobiles were created in the late 19th century, and though they showed too cumbersome for daily transport, they still captured the imaginations of creators, engineers, and mechanics. Some were operated by a person sitting inside the wheel, while others were controlled by somebody outside the car or by a motor. All of them included a moving outside aspect and stationary interior part. One early prototype was an armored model intended for military use. That monowheel had an external shell to secure the inner functions from battlefield threats and ran without a human driver.

You can still discover monowheels today, but they are mostly utilized for home entertainment and bring with them some security concerns. For those who would rather not run the risk of the lateral instability or the terrifyingly called “gerbiling” impact, this miniature model is an outstanding alternative.
