Introduction
The Spektrum AR631 AS3X Telemetry Receiver is a DSM2 and DSMX capable receiver. Its compact footprint is developed to fit in a vast array of aircraft designs consisting of park leaflets and larger sport designs. The AR631 is a full range 6-channel receiver with built in AS3X and SAFE stabilization, which counters the results of wind, turbulence and torque using 3-axis MEMS gyro and special flight control software application tuned by professional RC pilots. There is no hold-up in control action or limits on control throws. You'll merely seem like you're flying an expertly tuned model that does exactly what you want.

Overview
The AR631 includes fly-by range telemetry and a bind button that makes it simple to bind without any plugs required and provides both SmartSafe technology and Hold Last along with preset failsafe types set through forward shows. A long 230mm 2.4gHz antenna, ideal for getting ideal reception when set up into tight spaces. The AR631 likewise includes Smart Telemetry support.
With Smart Innovation the normal servo connector delivers the throttle signal to the ESC, plus the ESC can send out telemetry information like voltage and current back to the receiver. The AR631 receiver throttle port (Channel 1 port only) will instantly detect when a Smart compatible ESC is connected. ESCs with Smart and IC series ports can likewise pass along battery information from compatible Spektrum Smart batteries. Spektrum Bird™ ESCs work with the AR631 receiver for Smart Innovation features.
For Smart to function you should have a Smart ESC paired with a Smart telemetry receiver, and a Spektrum DSMX transmitter with telemetry. An update for your transmitter might be required for Smart features. See the Spektrum site to register and upgrade your transmitter. If a standard ESC or servo is plugged into the throttle port on the AR631 receiver, the throttle port will operate normally (PWM signal) like any standard RC system.

SAFE® Technology

Long 230mm 2.4GHz Antenna
The AR631 includes an extra-long 230mm 2.4ghz antenna (approximately 9 inches), specifically crafted for use in tight installations. When installing your receiver into an aircraft where there is less then perfect area away from batteries and other gadgets, a long antenna is essential. This allows users to install the receiver in tight spaces and separate the antenna for ideal reception and link quality. When positioning your antenna, it is best to have it at least 75mm ( approximately 3 inches) away from batteries, electronic speed controls (ESC), ignition systems, and other electronic gadgets. Use the integrated flight log telemetry to perform a through range test to better assess your setup.
 



Forward Programming
You can set up the AR631 receiver wirelessly, directly from any compatible Spektrum™ transmitter, through the Forward Shows menu. No separate computer or mobile device is needed for setup and modifications.
 





 



Smart Telemetry
To take pleasure in the complete benefits of Smart™ technology, use the AR631 receiver with a Smart ESC and telemetry capable Spektrum DSMX® transmitter. The AR631 includes fly-by telemetry and will provide vital telemetry information such as current, voltage, temperature level and RPM is sent out directly to your transmitter.
