Introduction
The Spektrum AR631 AS3X Telemetry Receiver is a DSM2 and DSMX capable receiver. Its compact footprint is developed to fit in a wide range of airplane designs consisting of park leaflets and larger sport designs. The AR631 is a complete range 6-channel receiver with integrated in AS3X and SAFE stabilization, which counters the results of wind, turbulence and torque using 3-axis MEMS gyro and special flight control software tuned by expert RC pilots. There is no hold-up in control response or limitations on control tosses. You'll simply feel like you're flying an expertly tuned design that does exactly what you want.

Overview
The AR631 features fly-by range telemetry and a bind button that makes it easy to bind with no plugs needed and offers both SmartSafe technology and Hold Last along with preset failsafe types set through forward shows. A long 230mm 2.4gHz antenna, best for getting ideal reception when installed into tight spaces. The AR631 also features Smart Telemetry support.
With Smart Innovation the typical servo adapter delivers the throttle signal to the ESC, plus the ESC can send telemetry information like voltage and current back to the receiver. The AR631 receiver throttle port (Channel 1 port only) will instantly find when a Smart suitable ESC is connected. ESCs with Smart and IC series adapters can also pass along battery information from suitable Spektrum Smart batteries. Spektrum Bird™ ESCs are compatible with the AR631 receiver for Smart Innovation features.
For Smart to work you need to have a Smart ESC coupled with a Smart telemetry receiver, and a Spektrum DSMX transmitter with telemetry. An update for your transmitter might be required for Smart functions. See the Spektrum site to register and update your transmitter. If a standard ESC or servo is plugged into the throttle port on the AR631 receiver, the throttle port will run typically (PWM signal) like any standard RC system.

SAFE® Technology
SAFE® (Sensing unit Assisted Flight Envelope) technology flight modes assist pilots prevent over-controlling their designs. SAFE usages AS3X to deliver typical flight efficiency, however with restricted bank and pitch angles to avoid the airplane from getting in severe attitudes.
 







Long 230mm 2.4GHz Antenna
The AR631 features an extra-long 230mm 2.4ghz antenna (around 9 inches), particularly crafted for use in tight setups. When installing your receiver into an aircraft where there is less then perfect space far from batteries and other gadgets, a long antenna is crucial. This allows users to set up the receiver in tight spaces and isolate the antenna for ideal reception and link quality. When positioning your antenna, it is best to have it at least 75mm ( around 3 inches) far from batteries, electronic speed controls (ESC), ignition systems, and other electronic gadgets. Utilize the incorporated flight log telemetry to perform a through range test to better examine your setup.
 



Forward Programming
You can configure the AR631 receiver wirelessly, straight from any suitable Spektrum™ transmitter, through the Forward Shows menu. No separate computer system or mobile phone is needed for setup and changes.
 





 



Smart Telemetry
To take pleasure in the full advantages of Smart™ technology, use the AR631 receiver with a Smart ESC and telemetry capable Spektrum DSMX® transmitter. The AR631 features fly-by telemetry and will provide important telemetry information such as current, voltage, temperature and RPM is sent out straight to your transmitter.
