Introduction
The Spektrum AR631 AS3X Telemetry Receiver is a DSM2 and DSMX capable receiver. Its compact footprint is created to suit a wide range of airplane models consisting of park leaflets and larger sport models. The AR631 is a full range 6-channel receiver with integrated in AS3X and SAFE stabilization, which counters the impacts of wind, turbulence and torque using 3-axis MEMS gyro and special flight control software tuned by professional RC pilots. Overview
The AR631 includes fly-by range telemetry and a bind button that makes it simple to bind with no plugs needed and provides both SmartSafe technology and Hold Last along with predetermined failsafe types set through forward programs. A long 230mm 2.4gHz antenna, perfect for getting optimal reception when installed into tight areas. The AR631 likewise includes Smart Telemetry support.
With Smart Innovation the regular servo connector provides the throttle signal to the ESC, plus the ESC can send out telemetry information like voltage and existing back to the receiver. The AR631 receiver throttle port (Channel 1 port just) will immediately find when a Smart compatible ESC is linked. ESCs with Smart and IC series connectors can likewise pass along battery information from compatible Spektrum Smart batteries. Spektrum Bird™ ESCs are compatible with the AR631 receiver for Smart Innovation features.
For Smart to work you must have a Smart ESC coupled with a Smart telemetry receiver, and a Spektrum DSMX transmitter with telemetry. An upgrade for your transmitter may be required for Smart features. See the Spektrum site to register and upgrade your transmitter. If a standard ESC or servo is plugged into the throttle port on the AR631 receiver, the throttle port will operate usually (PWM signal) like any standard RC system.

Long 230mm 2.4GHz Antenna
The AR631 includes an extra-long 230mm 2.4ghz antenna (approximately 9 inches), particularly engineered for use in tight installations. When installing your receiver into an airplane where there is less then perfect space away from batteries and other gadgets, a long antenna is crucial. This allows users to set up the receiver in tight areas and isolate the antenna for optimal reception and link quality. When placing your antenna, it is best to have it a minimum of 75mm ( approximately 3 inches) away from batteries, electronic speed controls (ESC), ignition systems, and other electronic gadgets. Utilize the incorporated flight log telemetry to carry out a through range test to much better evaluate your setup.
 



Forward Programming
You can set up the AR631 receiver wirelessly, directly from any compatible Spektrum™ transmitter, through the Forward Shows menu. No different computer or mobile phone is needed for setup and changes.
