The integrated microchip on each battery will remember the last charging rate you set, so the next time you plug it in, these settings will immediately occupy so all you need to do is press “Start.” Another function that the Smart microchip enables is single-connection balance charge. When you plug in your IC3 or IC5 port to the charger, private cell voltage is immediately communicated to the Smart charger and enables you to stabilize charge without fussing with basic balance ports.



New IC3 & IC5 Connectors
The innovative Smart connection is enabled by a set up microchip on every battery, feeding the special information through a data cable television to the new IC3 and IC5 ports. The IC series of ports are created from the ground up to provide a more solid connection, greater heat resistance, and effortless installation. For those utilizing the popular EC3 and EC5 ports, there’s no need to fret. The IC port series is entirely backwards compatible with existing ports so you can use Smart Batteries with older systems, but only when linked to a Spektrum Smart gadget are all the benefits of Smart technology apparent.



Smart Discharge
LiPo batteries with Spektrum Smart™ technology almost look after themselves. When configured with a Spektrum Smart Battery Charger, Smart Batteries will immediately discharge to your fixed storage voltage when they are left to rest for a time period you pick, between 12 and 240 hours. This function will help to extend the life of your Smart Batteries by preventing your batteries from sitting fully charged for an extended period of time, which can harm the chemical stability of Lithium Polymer cells.
