$50.00 Brushed Motor smoked _ 2months not impressed

It was an awesome motor for my Traxxas TRX4 but it only lasted 2 months. No driving in water, cleaned after every other battery as well. This was my 1st time using taken products. Although I know A lot of their products are Very high Quality, this one did not last. It let the smoke out In less than 2 months. For a $50 motor I expected it to last longer.
