Based on the Carbon Cub by CubCrafters, an updated and completely modern iteration of the traditional Super Cub, and equipped with Horizon Pastime's unique and innovative SAFE technology, this scale reproduction makes it possible for practically anyone to learn to fly effectively. And the addition of telemetry-capable and Smart elements including an ESC, battery and charger (battery and charger sold separately for the BNF® Standard version), along with the alternative to add SAFE Plus® GPS-enabled technology and the Landing Assist Sensing Unit (LAS), makes discovering to fly even much easier than ever before!

The HobbyZone® Carbon Cub S 2 is the simplest to fly, a lot of capable and versatile scale fitness instructor RC plane yet! It's equipped with unique SAFE® (Sensing Unit Helped Flight Envelope) technology that assists to prevent overcontrol, loss of orientation and crashes so almost everyone can learn to fly effectively. Beginner, Intermediate and Skilled modes allow you to select the level of stability and control you need, or are all set to attempt, at the flip of a switch. And you can immediately go back to constant flight using Panic Recovery with the push of a button in any flight mode. Extra-large tires make it possible to remove and land on a variety of surface areas including thick grass, gravel courses, dirt tracks and smooth pavement, or you can set up the optional drifts to fly from water—which contributes to its unmatched adaptability and capabilities.
The Carbon Cub S 2 is equipped with a 30-amp telemetry-capable ESC that supplies a variety of real-time power system associated telemetry data including motor RPM, existing, battery voltage and more to suitable Spektrum™ AirWare™ equipped transmitters, and even approximate flight battery power remaining by means of several LEDs on the DXS transmitter included with the RTF version. The addition of unique Spektrum Smart elements including a lithium polymer (LiPo) battery and charger make it easier to charge correctly and safely (battery and charger sold separately for the BNF® Standard version). And you have the alternative to quickly upgrade to SAFE Plus GPS-enabled technology that offers functions such as AutoLand and Virtual Fence, along with the alternative to set up the Landing Assist Sensing Unit (LAS) that automatically "flares" for smoother landings, to make discovering to fly—and to land safely—much easier than ever!
The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) version consists of everything needed to fly in one box, and is the perfect choice if you're a new RC pilot. From the Spektrum DXS 2.4GHz transmitter you can use with other Bind-N-Fly® (BNF) and BNF Standard airplane after you learn to fly the Carbon Cub S 2, to the THREE 2200mAh Smart LiPo battery that delivers long flight times and the practical S120 USB-C Smart charger that can be utilized with a variety of USB power sources, there's nothing extra you need to purchase or supply! A BNF Standard version is also offered for skilled pilots who wish to use their preferred Spektrum transmitter along with batteries and chargers they might already own. And for both variations, the powerful and efficient brushless power system including a telemetry-capable ESC, plus the flight controller, receiver and servos, are all factory-installed in the long lasting EPO airframe that assembles rapidly and quickly without the need for glue or unique tools.

Bind-N-Fly Completion Level Advantage
Already own a Spektrum™ transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) airplane make entering the air rapidly and with the best control experience possible much easier than ever. They come out of package with the power system, servos and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver set up so all you need to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, complete any final assembly, and fly!
 



Telemetry Capable
The Carbon Cub S 2 is equipped with an ESC that can supply a variety of real-time power system associated telemetry data including motor RPM, existing, battery voltage and more to suitable Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/G3 and 8 G2, the DX9, iX12, iX20 and others) while you fly.
 







Durable Design
Construction with innovative EPO product delivers a light-weight yet long lasting airframe that is difficult enough to manage daily flying punishment without getting bent out of shape. And in the unfortunate occasion you harm any airframe parts or elements and can't fix them, a complete line of replacement parts is readily available.
 



Easy Assembly
The Carbon Cub S 2 gets here mainly factory-assembled with the power system, servos plus the flight controller and receiver set up. All you need to do is complete some quick and easy final assembly, without using glue or unique tools, and you'll be all set to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery!
 







Versatile Equipment Options
Thick grass, gravel courses, dirt tracks; you can fly from these and lots of other surface areas that are difficult for a lot of designs of this size to manage. The robust landing gear is equipped with extra-large tires that take in the bumps of rough surface areas and supply outstanding prop clearance. The optional float set (sold separately) takes just a couple of minutes to set up and all the essential hardware is included with the airplane and float set so you can fly from lakes and ponds.
 



Optional Flaps
Practical flaps are an alternative for enhanced slow speed handling and even shorter takeoffs and landings. This function requires a 7+ channel computer transmitter plus a flap servo and a servo extension (sold separately).
 





 



Optional Landing Assist Sensing Unit for Easier Landings
The Spektrum Landing Assist Sensing Unit (LAS) is easy to set up and supplies automatic "flare" control to help inexperienced pilots "grease" landings by minimizing or totally removing bouncing (works over many/most surface areas and supplies optimum performance when flying over/landing in grass).

 






 

Learn to Fly Successfully with SAFE® Innovation
If this is your very first RC plane, Horizon Hobby-exclusive SAFE (Sensing Unit Helped Flight Envelope) technology prevents over-control and crashing while also offering several flight modes to provide more control and capabilities as your abilities development:

Beginner Mode

In this flight mode, the plane has pitch and bank angle limits to prevent over-control that can lead to a loss of orientation and crashes. When the control sticks are launched, the plane automatically goes back to level flight by itself enabling you to relax and delight in just 'steering' the plane through the sky. This flight mode also makes it much easier to remove and land.


 

Intermediate Mode

This flight mode permits more freedom in pitch and bank, however still prevents considerable over-control and the plane does not go back to level flight by itself. This permits you to make tighter turns and to climb up and come down much faster as your abilities advance. Also, Beginner Mode automatically activates and returns the plane to level flight when it descends listed below approximately 30 feet above ground level and the control sticks are launched.


 

Skilled Mode

In Skilled Mode there are no pitch or bank angle limits so you have complete control! You can even fly inverted (upside down) and carry out aerobatic maneuvers including loops, rolls, stall turns and more. Panic Recovery can be activated by changing to Beginner Mode and releasing the control sticks.


 

 

Panic Recovery

If you lose control of the plane in the Intermediate or Skilled flight modes, simply change to Beginner Mode and release the control sticks. SAFE technology will automatically return the plane to level flight.



 


 

Quickly Update to SAFE® Plus GPS-Enabled Innovation
With quick and easy setup of the optional Spektrum GPS Module you can add next-level autonomous assistance functions that make it even much easier to learn to fly. With SAFE Plus included you get:

AutoLand

Activated by simply holding down a button, the innovative AutoLand function puts the plane on a stabilized approach to land on its own near the GPS initialization point. You can even supply some directional assistance to avoid challenges or to adjust the approach while letting the system do the rest to execute a safe landing. As your abilities development and you get more confidence you can take control of more of the control inputs, ultimately discovering to land with no assistance from the automatic system at all.


 

Holding Pattern

This really helpful SAFE Plus-exclusive function basically permits you to "stop briefly" the flight by putting the plane into a GPS-guided holding pattern. When activated with the quick press of a button, the plane will automatically go back to a position above the GPS initialization point and circle up until the command is cancelled with another quick press of the button. It's a great method to safely hand the controls off to a pal or to regain visual contact if you ever lose sight of the design.


 

Virtual Fence

It's easy to accidentally let an RC plane fly too far away, however with Virtual Fence, stress no more. It develops an undetectable limit the plane won't fly past. When the plane reaches this limit, it will automatically turn around and fly back toward the GPS initialization point. Then it will "wag" the wings to let you understand when you have control again.
