The Vought F4U Corsair was a carrier capable fighter aircraft, geared up with the biggest readily available engine at the time, the Pratt & Whitney R2800, the engine had 18 cylinders and provided over 2000hp . The very first model of this aircraft was provided as a model to the United States Navy in 1940.
