Developed for the U.S. Navy, the Grumman F-14 Tomcat made its very first implementation in 1974 aboard the USS Enterprise, changing the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II. This E-flite model is based on the F-14D Super Tomcat variant and the factory-applied finish admires Strike Fighter Squadron 2 (VFA-2), likewise called the well-known "Bounty Hunters". Throughout its 2002-2003 implementation — the last cruise with the Tomcat — VF-2 participated in Operation Iraqi Flexibility flying reconnaissance, close air assistance, CAP and strike objectives.
