Overview
The E-flite® Wood® X 1.2m unleashes a brand-new age of STOL plus 3D aerobatic ability. Based upon the very popular Wood 1.5m design however featuring a brand-new wing design, oversized control surface areas plus a THREE and FOUR suitable power system, it uses an even broader flight envelope to deliver a truly "moderate to wild" experience. Hollow-core EPO building and construction with composite support leads to a light-weight yet strong airframe that's capable of handling extreme aerobatic maneuvers while keeping the wing packing low for excellent Brief Departure and Landing (STOL) and sluggish flight performance. It's also geared up with high-torque, metal-geared servos plus the shock-absorbing landing gear of the initial design so you can fly as aggressively as you want from nearly any surface area. You can even set up the included leading edge slats for improved sluggish flight performance, or the optional floats (EFL5261, sold individually) so you can fly from water. eXtreme Maneuverability
The Wood® X 1.2m features a brand-new wing design with a reduced span plus much bigger ailerons and flaps, together with a bigger elevator and rudder. Double-beveled hinge lines make it possible to deflect every control surface area, including the flaps that can now travel in both directions, to high angles for impressive control and eXtreme 3D aerobatic ability. Pockets in the rear of the fuselage and the included optional-use steel stabilizer joiner give you extra options to tweak the design's performance for even wilder 3D setups–or on low rates the controls can be as smooth and docile as they are on the initial so you can fly as moderate or as wild as you'd like!
 



eXtra Power
The factory-installed brushless power system features a 50-amp ESC plus a specially-tuned motor and prop that deliver an abundance of thrust with a THREE LiPo battery, or bonus power and unrestricted vertical performance with a FOUR battery without the requirement for any adjustments or upgrades.
 







eXtremely Durable
Composite-reinforced, hollow-core building and construction with EPO material provides a light-weight yet resilient airframe. The Wood® X 1.2m is also geared up with high-torque, metal-geared servos plus the shock-absorbing landing gear and oversized tundra-style wheels of the initial design so you can fly aggressively from nearly any surface area.
 



STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) Capable
The new wing design has a much shorter span yet nearly as much wing area as the initial, plus it features drooped wingtips and can be geared up with the included optional-use leading edge slats for improved sluggish flight and STOL performance. These functions, together with the light-weight design, oversized flaps and high-power brushless motor, make it possible to spring into the air or float down to land in as low as 2 feet or less.
 







LED Lights
Like the initial, the Wood® X 1.2m includes realistic-looking LED landing, navigation and strobe lights that are factory-installed and powered from the flight battery.
 



Optional Floats
Owners of an original Wood® 1.5m design can use the float set it came with on the Wood X 1.2m, or the EDO-style float set is available individually (EFL5261) and consists of the required installing struts plus a dual-rudder steering system for exceptional handling and easy launches and landings on water.
 







Bind-N-Fly Completion Level Benefit
Already own a Spektrum™ transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) airplane make getting into the air rapidly and with the very best control experience possible simpler than ever. They come out of package with the power system, servos and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver set up so all you require to do is bind the receiver to a suitable transmitter, complete any final assembly, and fly!

This Bind-N-Fly Basic design is geared up with a Spektrum 2.4GHz DSMX® receiver featuring AS3X (Artificial Stabilization–3-aXis) innovation that works behind the scenes to ravel the impacts of wind and turbulence. The result is a heightened sense of stability and accuracy that makes you feel like you're flying a much bigger, expertly tuned aircraft.

If this is your very first design of its type, or you want an additional margin of safety while familiarizing yourself with the airplane, you can enable the optional-use SAFE® Select flight envelope protection innovation constructed into the receiver. No programming is required. Merely alter the binding sequence as directed in the manual.

With SAFE Select made it possible for, you get:

Pitch and Bank Angle Limits
These envelope restricts keep the airplane from rolling or pitching upside down. They also prevent excessive climb or dive angles.

Automatic Self-Leveling
The airplane quickly returns to and holds level flight when the sticks are launched and in the center position. It's also valuable for keeping the wings level during takeoffs/launches and landings.

Easy Change Assignment—No Complex Programs Required
The easy treatment for designating a transmitter switch to turn SAFE Select functions on and off does not need any complicated programming and takes just a couple of seconds.

If you don't wish to enable the SAFE Select functions, just bind the receiver generally and it will operate like a basic AS3X receiver.
