The Springfield Armory XD (Xtreme Task) line of pistols are polymer framed, striker fired, semi-automatic pistols created to meet the numerous requirements of police. The XDM series of pistols share many of the very same features that made the standard XD line great however adds lots of enhancements to better accommodate the end-users shooting experience.
