The Unique Operation Forces Battle Attack Rifle (SCAR) was established by Belgian arms producer FN Herstal (FNH) as a dependable, low upkeep, modular battle rifle for the United States Unique Operations Command (SOCOM) to change the attempted and real M4A1 carbine utilized by Unique Forces units throughout different branches of the US Military.

The FN SCAR includes ambidextrous controls such as an ambi selector and mag release in addition to a reversible charging deal with allowing the operator to set up the rifle to their choice. The CNC one piece upper receiver includes an uninterrupted Picatinny leading rail with 2 detachable side rails and a bottom rail to mount any MIL-STD-1913/Picatinny devices. The high strength polymer lower receiver assists reduce the over-all weight of the rifle while still keeping most of the controls of the already familiar M4/M16 system. The telescoping, folding stock allows the rifle to be completely adjustable for length of pull to accommodate any operator. With the stock folded, the SCAR provides a considerably lower profile than even the M4A1 enabling simple storage and transportation.
