The UV-82 series has upped the bar on budget friendly ham radio technology! Compared to previous BaoFeng items (UV-5R, GT-3, and the v2+ Series) the UV-82 features a much louder speaker (1 watt), a a lot more solid case with larger buttons, and a new chipset and PCB board that surpasses the variety, accuracy, and output of the previous BaoFeng chipsets. It is not just a remake but a new radio from the ground up. It surpasses the the 2nd Gen UV-5R chipset (used in the UV-5Rs, GT-3 BF-F8+, and v2+ series).

The UV-82HP is the 2nd generation of the traditional UV-82 Series. Some new functions discovered in the UV-82HP are the 3 selectable power levels (Low - 1 watt, Medium - 5 watt, High- 7 watt) enabling a high-output of 7 watts.

The UV-82 Series include a dual push-to-talk button. The double PTT is a huge leap forward in the HT technology. It enables you to transmit on two frequencies by the usage of the rocker PTT switch. By pressing up you can transmit on "Frequency A" and by pushing down you can transmit on "Frequency B". Frequency A or B can also be used as a scanner of channels, frequencies, CTCSS and DTS tones.

On the BaoFeng UV-82C you have the ability to synchronize the PTT button to enable single Push-to-Talk communications.
