The amazing efficiency of the SP5 begins at the heart of the motor--the stator. Created in-house, the stator's profile is meant to attain maximum torque and power output without compromising RPM. Top quality copper magnet wire, sized to the maximum that the guidelines enable and wound with care to keep resistance near the legal minimum, is treated with heat transfer epoxy to dissipate heat and reduce internal temperatures leading to less fade over the course of the race. An extra-large collector ring not only dissipates heat, however in combination with thick solder tabs, reduces resistance and power loss.

A well balanced rotor includes a high-strength magnet that takes full advantage of dimensional guidelines to produce fade-free power with maximum efficiency. The rotor is supported by precision stainless steel ball bearings to accommodate high RPM loads with extraordinary effectiveness and reliability.
