Tamiya 1/48 P-51B Mustang

This is a Plastic 1/48 P-51B Mustang Airplane from Tamiya.

The initially Allison powered P-51's readied planes however lacked the high
altitude efficiency to be reliable bomber escorts. That altered when the
basic P-51 airframe was mated with a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine to produce the
P-51B.
Tamiya's rendition of the Mustang builds up into an impressive, extremely
in-depth 1/48th scale replica with precise interior and exterior detail. High
quality water triggered decals are consisted of for 3 aircraft.

ALTERNATIVES:
Single sheet of InvisaClear decals by Scalemaster. These decals are
    extremely precisely printed so that the clear provider layer is kept to
    a minimum and does disappoint on the completed model.
1: 336th FS Fourth FG Capt. D Gentile "Shangri La".
Top: Olive drab; Bottom: Neutral Grey; Spinner: White w/red
stripe.

REMARKS:
As exquisite as the cockpit detail in this package is it does struggle with
    a small accuracy issue. In the initial Allison powered
    Mustangs the cockpit floor was actually the top surface of the wing
    , resulting in a curved surface. The change to the Merlin engine
    require adjustments that made the fuselage taller.
    As a result, a flat wooden floor was set up in all P-51's from
    the B model onwards. Nevertheless, this package has the curved floor
    appropriate to an early Mustang. It's easily repaired with some
    sheet styrene.
