The United States Navy Warship CVN-65 Enterprise, likewise referred to as
the "Big E", is the worlds largest ship and the first nuclear powered aircraft
provider. Webster defines the word Enterprise as implying "Endeavor, Task,

business organization, Initiative, and so on," and the CVN-65 fits all of these
meanings completely. The provider Enterprise is the 8th United States Naval vessel to
carry the name, and the first one was introduced in 1755 as a one masted sailing
ship that served throughout the American Transformation and its displacement was just
about 1/1000 of the current namesake.
