1/35 United States Tank Destroyer M18 Hellcat Plastic Design Package

Pioneer of Tank Destroyer

The M18 Hellcat was an American tank destroyer established to counter the German Army tanks, and it included an open top design turret and effective 76mm weapon, plus a main weapon breech turned 45 degrees around the weapon barrel to conserve space in the turret interior. It had a compact, light-weight hull, automated transmission and the very first torsion bar suspension seen on U.S. armor. Its radial 9-cylinder engine at the hull back was capable of 80km/h optimum speed which was the greatest speed among tracked lorries during WWII. The production began in July, 1943 and the Hellcat remained in service for the very first time at the Italian Front in 1944. After that, this tank destroyer was released in the North-Western European and Pacific War theaters, notably besting the German Army tanks with super efficiency and firepower based upon hit-and-run strategies. The Hellcat added to U.S. triumph as a pioneer of tank destroyers.
