Scale Engine & Transmission Assembly   

The SSD Trail King consists of a very first of its kind multi-piece molded plastic V8 engine that is complimented by a scale transmission and transfer case assembly. The scale engine houses a forward mounted motor and each element is thoroughly modeled as near the 1:1 parts as possible. The engine is comprised of 14 private pieces, and with a little creativity can be detailed and modified even further. Plus, the transmission holds the motor very low in the chassis, supplying a lower CG and increased performance when compared to motor forward configurations from other brand names. 

Offset Pro44 Front Axle   

By using their proven Pro44 axle parts, and combining them with a unique balanced out axle tube setup, SSD has developed a scale axle housing that is resilient and light-weight. The axle tubes are one piece, so they remove the link mounts and associated hardware that shows in the front of the axle - producing an exceptionally sensible looking, light-weight axle housing. The axle is finished off with machined aluminum c-hubs and knuckles, 6 bolt locker/ring equipment assembly, and solidified steel balanced out universal joint axles that allow up to 50° of guiding throw!
