Introduction
The Spektrum AR631 AS3X Telemetry Receiver is a DSM2 and DSMX capable receiver. Its compact footprint is developed to suit a large range of airplane models including park flyers and bigger sport models. The AR631 is a full range 6-channel receiver with integrated in AS3X and SAFE stabilization, which counters the results of wind, turbulence and torque using 3-axis MEMS gyro and unique flight control software application tuned by specialist RC pilots. There is no hold-up in control response or limits on control throws. You'll just seem like you're flying a skillfully tuned model that does exactly what you want.

Overview
The AR631 includes fly-by range telemetry and a bind button that makes it simple to bind without any plugs required and uses both SmartSafe technology and Hold Last in addition to pre-programmed failsafe types set through forward shows. A long 230mm 2.4gHz antenna, ideal for getting optimal reception when set up into tight areas. The AR631 also includes Smart Telemetry support.
With Smart Innovation the typical servo port delivers the throttle signal to the ESC, plus the ESC can send out telemetry information like voltage and existing back to the receiver. The AR631 receiver throttle port (Channel 1 port only) will automatically spot when a Smart suitable ESC is linked. ESCs with Smart and IC series adapters can also pass along battery information from suitable Spektrum Smart batteries. Spektrum Bird™ ESCs work with the AR631 receiver for Smart Innovation features.
For Smart to work you should have a Smart ESC coupled with a Smart telemetry receiver, and a Spektrum DSMX transmitter with telemetry. An upgrade for your transmitter may be needed for Smart features. See the Spektrum website to sign up and upgrade your transmitter. If a standard ESC or servo is plugged into the throttle port on the AR631 receiver, the throttle port will run typically (PWM signal) like any traditional RC system.

SAFE® Technology
SAFE® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology flight modes assist pilots prevent over-controlling their models. SAFE usages AS3X to provide typical flight performance, but with restricted bank and pitch angles to prevent the airplane from getting in severe mindsets.
 







Long 230mm 2.4GHz Antenna
The AR631 includes an extra-long 230mm 2.4ghz antenna (around 9 inches), particularly engineered for usage in tight installations. When installing your receiver into an airplane where there is less then ideal space away from batteries and other devices, a long antenna is essential. This permits users to set up the receiver in tight areas and isolate the antenna for optimal reception and link quality. When positioning your antenna, it is best to have it at least 75mm ( around 3 inches) away from batteries, electronic speed controls (ESC), ignition systems, and other electronic devices. Utilize the incorporated flight log telemetry to carry out a through range test to much better assess your setup.
 



Forward Programming
You can set up the AR631 receiver wirelessly, straight from any suitable Spektrum™ transmitter, through the Forward Shows menu. No separate computer or mobile device is needed for setup and modifications.
 





 



Smart Telemetry
To enjoy the full advantages of Smart™ technology, utilize the AR631 receiver with a Smart ESC and telemetry capable Spektrum DSMX® transmitter. The AR631 includes fly-by telemetry and will supply important telemetry information such as existing, voltage, temperature and RPM is sent straight to your transmitter.
