Introduction
The Spektrum AR631 AS3X Telemetry Receiver is a DSM2 and DSMX capable receiver. Its compact footprint is developed to fit in a vast array of aircraft designs including park flyers and bigger sport designs. The AR631 is a complete range 6-channel receiver with integrated in AS3X and SAFE stabilization, which counters the effects of wind, turbulence and torque utilizing 3-axis MEMS gyro and exclusive flight control software application tuned by expert RC pilots. There is no hold-up in control action or limitations on control tosses. You'll just feel like you're flying an expertly tuned design that does exactly what you want.

Overview
The AR631 features fly-by range telemetry and a bind button that makes it simple to bind with no plugs necessary and uses both SmartSafe innovation and Hold Last in addition to predetermined failsafe types set through forward programs. A long 230mm 2.4gHz antenna, best for getting optimum reception when set up into tight areas. The AR631 also features Smart Telemetry support.
With Smart Innovation the normal servo port delivers the throttle signal to the ESC, plus the ESC can send telemetry data like voltage and current back to the receiver. The AR631 receiver throttle port (Channel 1 port only) will automatically identify when a Smart compatible ESC is connected. ESCs with Smart and IC series adapters can also pass along battery data from compatible Spektrum Smart batteries. Spektrum Bird™ ESCs are compatible with the AR631 receiver for Smart Innovation features.
For Smart to operate you should have a Smart ESC coupled with a Smart telemetry receiver, and a Spektrum DSMX transmitter with telemetry. An update for your transmitter might be required for Smart features. See the Spektrum website to register and upgrade your transmitter. If a standard ESC or servo is plugged into the throttle port on the AR631 receiver, the throttle port will run typically (PWM signal) like any standard RC system.

SAFE® Technology
SAFE® (Sensing unit Assisted Flight Envelope) innovation flight modes assist pilots avoid over-controlling their designs. SAFE usages AS3X to deliver normal flight efficiency, however with minimal bank and pitch angles to prevent the aircraft from getting in severe mindsets.
 







Long 230mm 2.4GHz Antenna
The AR631 features an extra-long 230mm 2.4ghz antenna (approximately 9 inches), specifically crafted for use in tight installations. When installing your receiver into an airplane where there is less then perfect space away from batteries and other devices, a long antenna is essential. This enables users to set up the receiver in tight areas and separate the antenna for optimum reception and link quality. When positioning your antenna, it is best to have it at least 75mm ( approximately 3 inches) away from batteries, electronic speed controls (ESC), ignition systems, and other electronic devices. Utilize the integrated flight log telemetry to perform a through range test to much better assess your setup.
 



Forward Programming
You can set up the AR631 receiver wirelessly, directly from any compatible Spektrum™ transmitter, through the Forward Programs menu. No separate computer system or mobile device is required for setup and changes.
 





 



Smart Telemetry
To delight in the complete benefits of Smart™ innovation, use the AR631 receiver with a Smart ESC and telemetry capable Spektrum DSMX® transmitter. The AR631 features fly-by telemetry and will offer essential telemetry data such as current, voltage, temperature and RPM is sent out directly to your transmitter.
