Introduction
The Spektrum AR631 AS3X Telemetry Receiver is a DSM2 and DSMX capable receiver. Its compact footprint is created to suit a large range of aircraft designs consisting of park flyers and bigger sport designs. The AR631 is a full range 6-channel receiver with built in AS3X and SAFE stabilization, which counters the effects of wind, turbulence and torque using 3-axis MEMS gyro and unique flight control software tuned by professional RC pilots. There is no hold-up in control reaction or limits on control throws. You'll merely seem like you're flying a skillfully tuned design that does exactly what you want.

Overview
The AR631 features fly-by range telemetry and a bind button that makes it easy to bind with no plugs necessary and uses both SmartSafe technology and Hold Last along with preset failsafe types set through forward programs. A long 230mm 2.4gHz antenna, ideal for getting optimal reception when installed into tight spaces. The AR631 likewise features Smart Telemetry support.
With Smart Innovation the typical servo connector delivers the throttle signal to the ESC, plus the ESC can send telemetry information like voltage and present back to the receiver. The AR631 receiver throttle port (Channel 1 port only) will immediately find when a Smart suitable ESC is linked. ESCs with Smart and IC series adapters can likewise pass along battery information from suitable Spektrum Smart batteries. Spektrum Avian™ ESCs are compatible with the AR631 receiver for Smart Innovation features.
For Smart to operate you must have a Smart ESC coupled with a Smart telemetry receiver, and a Spektrum DSMX transmitter with telemetry. An update for your transmitter might be required for Smart features. See the Spektrum site to register and update your transmitter. If a standard ESC or servo is plugged into the throttle port on the AR631 receiver, the throttle port will operate usually (PWM signal) like any conventional RC system.

SAFE® Technology
SAFE® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology flight modes assist pilots prevent over-controlling their designs. SAFE usages AS3X to deliver typical flight efficiency, however with minimal bank and pitch angles to prevent the aircraft from getting in severe mindsets.
 







Long 230mm 2.4GHz Antenna
The AR631 features an extra-long 230mm 2.4ghz antenna (approximately 9 inches), specifically engineered for use in tight setups. When installing your receiver into an airplane where there is less then perfect space away from batteries and other devices, a long antenna is key. This enables users to set up the receiver in tight spaces and separate the antenna for optimal reception and link quality. When placing your antenna, it is best to have it a minimum of 75mm ( approximately 3 inches) away from batteries, electronic speed controls (ESC), ignition systems, and other electronic devices. Utilize the integrated flight log telemetry to perform a through range test to better evaluate your setup.
 



Forward Programming
You can set up the AR631 receiver wirelessly, straight from any suitable Spektrum™ transmitter, through the Forward Programming menu. No different computer or mobile device is required for setup and modifications.
 





 



Smart Telemetry
To take pleasure in the complete advantages of Smart™ technology, utilize the AR631 receiver with a Smart ESC and telemetry capable Spektrum DSMX® transmitter. The AR631 features fly-by telemetry and will offer essential telemetry information such as present, voltage, temperature level and RPM is sent straight to your transmitter.
