Introduction
The Spektrum AR631 AS3X Telemetry Receiver is a DSM2 and DSMX capable receiver. Its compact footprint is developed to suit a wide range of aircraft designs including park flyers and larger sport designs. The AR631 is a complete range 6-channel receiver with integrated in AS3X and SAFE stabilization, which counters the results of wind, turbulence and torque using 3-axis MEMS gyro and unique flight control software application tuned by expert RC pilots. There is no delay in control action or limits on control tosses. You'll just feel like you're flying a skillfully tuned model that does precisely what you want.

Overview
The AR631 features fly-by range telemetry and a bind button that makes it simple to bind with no plugs necessary and uses both SmartSafe technology and Hold Last in addition to preset failsafe types set through forward programs. A long 230mm 2.4gHz antenna, perfect for getting optimum reception when installed into tight spaces. The AR631 also features Smart Telemetry support.
With Smart Innovation the typical servo connector provides the throttle signal to the ESC, plus the ESC can send telemetry data like voltage and existing back to the receiver. The AR631 receiver throttle port (Channel 1 port just) will automatically find when a Smart compatible ESC is linked. ESCs with Smart and IC series connectors can also pass along battery data from compatible Spektrum Smart batteries. Spektrum Avian™ ESCs are compatible with the AR631 receiver for Smart Innovation features.
For Smart to work you need to have a Smart ESC paired with a Smart telemetry receiver, and a Spektrum DSMX transmitter with telemetry. An update for your transmitter may be required for Smart features. See the Spektrum website to register and update your transmitter. If a standard ESC or servo is plugged into the throttle port on the AR631 receiver, the throttle port will run generally (PWM signal) like any traditional RC system.

SAFE® Technology
SAFE® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology flight modes help pilots avoid over-controlling their designs. SAFE uses AS3X to deliver typical flight performance, but with restricted bank and pitch angles to prevent the aircraft from getting in severe mindsets.
 







Long 230mm 2.4GHz Antenna
The AR631 features an extra-long 230mm 2.4ghz antenna (approximately 9 inches), particularly crafted for use in tight installations. When installing your receiver into an airplane where there is less then ideal area far from batteries and other devices, a long antenna is crucial. This permits users to set up the receiver in tight spaces and isolate the antenna for optimum reception and link quality. When positioning your antenna, it is best to have it at least 75mm ( approximately 3 inches) far from batteries, electronic speed controls (ESC), ignition systems, and other electronic devices. Use the incorporated flight log telemetry to perform a through range test to better examine your setup.
 



Forward Programming
You can configure the AR631 receiver wirelessly, directly from any compatible Spektrum™ transmitter, through the Forward Programming menu. No separate computer or mobile device is required for setup and modifications.
 





 



Smart Telemetry
To delight in the complete benefits of Smart™ technology, utilize the AR631 receiver with a Smart ESC and telemetry capable Spektrum DSMX® transmitter. The AR631 features fly-by telemetry and will supply important telemetry data such as existing, voltage, temperature and RPM is sent directly to your transmitter.
