Introduction
The Spektrum AR631 AS3X Telemetry Receiver is a DSM2 and DSMX capable receiver. Its compact footprint is designed to fit in a large range of aircraft designs including park flyers and larger sport designs. The AR631 is a complete range 6-channel receiver with integrated in AS3X and SAFE stabilization, which counters the results of wind, turbulence and torque using 3-axis MEMS gyro and special flight control software application tuned by expert RC pilots. There is no delay in control response or limits on control tosses. You'll simply feel like you're flying a skillfully tuned model that does precisely what you want.

Overview
The AR631 features fly-by range telemetry and a bind button that makes it easy to bind with no plugs required and offers both SmartSafe innovation and Hold Last along with pre-programmed failsafe types set through forward programming. A long 230mm 2.4gHz antenna, perfect for getting optimal reception when installed into tight areas. The AR631 also features Smart Telemetry support.
With Smart Technology the normal servo adapter delivers the throttle signal to the ESC, plus the ESC can send telemetry data like voltage and existing back to the receiver. The AR631 receiver throttle port (Channel 1 port only) will immediately find when a Smart suitable ESC is linked. ESCs with Smart and IC series ports can also pass along battery data from suitable Spektrum Smart batteries. Spektrum Bird™ ESCs work with the AR631 receiver for Smart Technology features.
For Smart to operate you need to have a Smart ESC coupled with a Smart telemetry receiver, and a Spektrum DSMX transmitter with telemetry. An update for your transmitter might be required for Smart features. See the Spektrum website to sign up and upgrade your transmitter. If a basic ESC or servo is plugged into the throttle port on the AR631 receiver, the throttle port will run usually (PWM signal) like any conventional RC system.

SAFE® Technology
SAFE® (Sensing unit Assisted Flight Envelope) innovation flight modes assist pilots prevent over-controlling their designs. SAFE usages AS3X to provide normal flight performance, however with limited bank and pitch angles to prevent the aircraft from getting in extreme attitudes.
 







Long 230mm 2.4GHz Antenna
The AR631 features an extra-long 230mm 2.4ghz antenna (approximately 9 inches), specifically engineered for usage in tight setups. When installing your receiver into an aircraft where there is less then ideal space far from batteries and other devices, a long antenna is essential. This allows users to set up the receiver in tight areas and isolate the antenna for optimal reception and link quality. When placing your antenna, it is best to have it a minimum of 75mm ( approximately 3 inches) far from batteries, electronic speed controls (ESC), ignition systems, and other electronic devices. Use the incorporated flight log telemetry to perform a through range test to much better assess your setup.
 



Forward Programming
You can configure the AR631 receiver wirelessly, straight from any suitable Spektrum™ transmitter, through the Forward Programs menu. No different computer or mobile phone is needed for setup and modifications.
 





 



Smart Telemetry
To enjoy the complete benefits of Smart™ innovation, utilize the AR631 receiver with a Smart ESC and telemetry capable Spektrum DSMX® transmitter. The AR631 features fly-by telemetry and will offer essential telemetry data such as existing, voltage, temperature and RPM is sent out straight to your transmitter.
