Introduction
The Spektrum AR631 AS3X Telemetry Receiver is a DSM2 and DSMX capable receiver. Its compact footprint is designed to fit in a vast array of aircraft models consisting of park flyers and larger sport models. The AR631 is a complete range 6-channel receiver with integrated in AS3X and SAFE stabilization, which counters the effects of wind, turbulence and torque using 3-axis MEMS gyro and special flight control software tuned by expert RC pilots. There is no delay in control action or limits on control throws. You'll simply feel like you're flying an expertly tuned design that does exactly what you want.

Overview
The AR631 features fly-by range telemetry and a bind button that makes it easy to bind with no plugs required and uses both SmartSafe innovation and Hold Last along with predetermined failsafe types set through forward programming. A long 230mm 2.4gHz antenna, perfect for getting optimal reception when set up into tight areas. The AR631 also features Smart Telemetry support.
With Smart Innovation the normal servo port delivers the throttle signal to the ESC, plus the ESC can send out telemetry information like voltage and present back to the receiver. The AR631 receiver throttle port (Channel 1 port only) will automatically detect when a Smart suitable ESC is linked. ESCs with Smart and IC series adapters can also pass along battery information from suitable Spektrum Smart batteries. Spektrum Avian™ ESCs work with the AR631 receiver for Smart Innovation features.
For Smart to operate you need to have a Smart ESC coupled with a Smart telemetry receiver, and a Spektrum DSMX transmitter with telemetry. An upgrade for your transmitter might be required for Smart functions. See the Spektrum site to register and upgrade your transmitter. If a basic ESC or servo is plugged into the throttle port on the AR631 receiver, the throttle port will operate normally (PWM signal) like any conventional RC system.

SAFE® Technology
SAFE® (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) innovation flight modes help pilots avoid over-controlling their models. SAFE usages AS3X to provide normal flight efficiency, but with minimal bank and pitch angles to avoid the aircraft from getting in severe attitudes.
 







Long 230mm 2.4GHz Antenna
The AR631 features an extra-long 230mm 2.4ghz antenna (approximately 9 inches), particularly crafted for usage in tight setups. When installing your receiver into an airplane where there is less then ideal area away from batteries and other devices, a long antenna is key. This allows users to install the receiver in tight areas and isolate the antenna for optimal reception and link quality. When placing your antenna, it is best to have it at least 75mm ( approximately 3 inches) away from batteries, electronic speed controls (ESC), ignition systems, and other electronic devices. Utilize the integrated flight log telemetry to perform a through range test to much better examine your setup.
 



Forward Programming
You can configure the AR631 receiver wirelessly, directly from any suitable Spektrum™ transmitter, through the Forward Shows menu. No different computer system or mobile device is needed for setup and modifications.
 





 



Smart Telemetry
To take pleasure in the full advantages of Smart™ innovation, use the AR631 receiver with a Smart ESC and telemetry capable Spektrum DSMX® transmitter. The AR631 features fly-by telemetry and will provide important telemetry information such as present, voltage, temperature and RPM is sent directly to your transmitter.
