Introduction
The Spektrum AR631 AS3X Telemetry Receiver is a DSM2 and DSMX capable receiver. Its compact footprint is developed to fit in a wide variety of airplane models consisting of park flyers and larger sport models. The AR631 is a complete range 6-channel receiver with integrated in AS3X and SAFE stabilization, which counters the effects of wind, turbulence and torque using 3-axis MEMS gyro and special flight control software application tuned by specialist RC pilots. There is no delay in control reaction or limitations on control tosses. You'll merely feel like you're flying an expertly tuned design that does precisely what you want.

Overview
The AR631 features fly-by range telemetry and a bind button that makes it easy to bind with no plugs necessary and uses both SmartSafe technology and Hold Last in addition to preset failsafe types set through forward programs. A long 230mm 2.4gHz antenna, perfect for getting optimal reception when installed into tight spaces. The AR631 also features Smart Telemetry support.
With Smart Innovation the normal servo connector provides the throttle signal to the ESC, plus the ESC can send telemetry data like voltage and current back to the receiver. The AR631 receiver throttle port (Channel 1 port just) will immediately find when a Smart suitable ESC is connected. ESCs with Smart and IC series ports can also pass along battery data from suitable Spektrum Smart batteries. Spektrum Avian™ ESCs are compatible with the AR631 receiver for Smart Innovation features.
For Smart to work you must have a Smart ESC paired with a Smart telemetry receiver, and a Spektrum DSMX transmitter with telemetry. An update for your transmitter might be required for Smart features. See the Spektrum website to register and upgrade your transmitter. If a basic ESC or servo is plugged into the throttle port on the AR631 receiver, the throttle port will run typically (PWM signal) like any traditional RC system.

SAFE® Technology
SAFE® (Sensing unit Assisted Flight Envelope) technology flight modes help pilots avoid over-controlling their models. SAFE uses AS3X to deliver normal flight performance, however with limited bank and pitch angles to prevent the airplane from getting in severe mindsets.
 







Long 230mm 2.4GHz Antenna
The AR631 features an extra-long 230mm 2.4ghz antenna (approximately 9 inches), particularly engineered for usage in tight setups. When installing your receiver into an airplane where there is less then perfect area away from batteries and other gadgets, a long antenna is crucial. This allows users to install the receiver in tight spaces and separate the antenna for optimal reception and link quality. When positioning your antenna, it is best to have it a minimum of 75mm ( approximately 3 inches) away from batteries, electronic speed controls (ESC), ignition systems, and other electronic gadgets. Utilize the integrated flight log telemetry to carry out a through range test to much better evaluate your setup.
 



Forward Programming
You can set up the AR631 receiver wirelessly, straight from any suitable Spektrum™ transmitter, through the Forward Programs menu. No different computer system or mobile device is required for setup and changes.
 





 



Smart Telemetry
