Rocks, dirt and debris striking your shock shafts result in dents, dings and burrs, which, in turn, result in torn shock seals. Torn shock seals suggests leaky shocks and poor shock efficiency. RPM Shock Shaft Guards protect the shock shaft from those weakening elements, lengthening the life of the shock shaft, which improves the long-term efficiency of the suspension and in turn, lengthens the time in between seal replacement and shock rebuilds.RPM Shock Shaft Guards are a simple design, changing stock shock spring cups with ones that have installing holes for a thin but hard guard that rises up to the base of the shock body. The guard completely obstructs debris from striking the shock shaft. The back and sides are open, which avoids debris from developing inside the guard as well. The front guard of the guard covers over 100 degrees of frontal direct exposure! That suggests rocks tossed from the front tires (or from that person you?re attempting to pass) won?t ever hit your shock shafts. RPM Shock Shaft Guards are absolutely no friction security gadgets, suggesting our guards never touch the working elements of the shocks. As an added bonus offer, we increased the length of the tubular spring support of the spring cup by almost 2mm (5/64?). The added length helps avoid the spring from leaping off of the spring perch when the conditions are less than ideal.RPM Shock Shaft Guards are offered in pairs and are stock replacement items.Tech Notes: RPM Shock Shaft Guards fit stock Traxxas X-Maxx GTX shocks (Traxxas #7761, #7761A, #7761G & #7761R) only. They have actually not been checked nor ensured to fit any other shocks for the X-Maxx. RPM Shock Shaft Guards replace Traxxas #7764 (spring cups only). Two plans will be required to complete one vehicle.
