Introduction
The original Timber® recorded the adventure of unbelievable Brief Launch and Landing (STOL) capabilities in a design including sporty flight efficiency and ultra-friendly handling. From low-time to {extremely|really} skilled pilots, almost everyone delights in flying the Timber–but some desire it had a lot more aerobatic capability. The E-flite® Timber X 1.2m combines the STOL capabilities of the original design with a brand-new wing design including extra-large ailerons and flaps, plus an enlarged rudder and elevator and a more effective 3S and 4S suitable power system, to also deliver 3D efficiency you'd expect from a full-blown aerobat!

Overview
The E-flite® Timber® X 1.2m unleashes a brand-new era of STOL plus 3D aerobatic capability. Based upon the incredibly popular Timber 1.5m design but including a brand-new wing design, extra-large control surface areas plus a THREE and 4S suitable power system, it offers an even wider flight envelope to deliver a truly "mild to wild" experience. Hollow-core EPO building and construction with composite support leads to a light-weight yet strong airframe that's capable of handling extreme aerobatic maneuvers while keeping the wing packing low for excellent Brief Launch and Landing (STOL) and slow flight efficiency. It's also equipped with high-torque, metal-geared servos plus the shock-absorbing landing gear of the original design so you can fly as aggressively as you desire from nearly any surface. You can even set up the included leading edge slats for enhanced slow flight efficiency, or the optional drifts (EFL5261, sold separately) so you can fly from water. Add in the LED landing, navigation and strobe lights plus much of the other popular features of the original, and the Timber X is a model nearly every pilot can appreciate and take pleasure in!

eXtreme Maneuverability
The Timber® X 1.2m features a brand-new wing design with a reduced span plus much bigger ailerons and flaps, in addition to an enlarged elevator and rudder. Double-beveled hinge lines make it possible to deflect every control surface, consisting of the flaps that can now travel in both instructions, to high angles for impressive control and eXtreme 3D aerobatic capability. Pockets in the back of the fuselage and the included optional-use steel stabilizer joiner provide you additional choices to fine-tune the design's efficiency for even wilder 3D setups–or on low rates the controls can be as smooth and docile as they are on the original so you can fly as mild or as wild as you'd like!
 



eXtra Power
The factory-installed brushless power system features a 50-amp ESC plus a specially-tuned motor and prop that deliver an abundance of thrust with a THREE LiPo battery, or bonus power and endless vertical efficiency with a 4S battery without the need for any adjustments or upgrades.
 







eXtremely Durable
Composite-reinforced, hollow-core building and construction with EPO material delivers a light-weight yet resilient airframe. The Timber® X 1.2m is also equipped with high-torque, metal-geared servos plus the shock-absorbing landing gear and extra-large tundra-style wheels of the original design so you can fly aggressively from nearly any surface.
 



STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) Capable
The new wing design has a much shorter span yet nearly as much wing area as the original, plus it features drooped wingtips and can be equipped with the included optional-use leading edge slats for enhanced slow flight and STOL efficiency. These features, in addition to the lightweight design, extra-large flaps and high-power brushless motor, make it possible to spring into the air or float down to land in as low as two feet or less.
 







LED Lights
Like the original, the Timber® X 1.2m comes with realistic-looking LED landing, navigation and strobe lights that are factory-installed and powered from the flight battery.
 



Optional Floats
Owners of an original Timber® 1.5m design can utilize the float set it included on the Timber X 1.2m, or the EDO-style float set is offered separately (EFL5261) and consists of the needed mounting struts plus a dual-rudder steering system for excellent handling and simple takeoffs and landings on water.
 







Bind-N-Fly Completion Level Benefit
Currently own a Spektrum™ transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) aircraft make getting into the air rapidly and with the best control experience possible much easier than ever. They come out of package with the power system, servos and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed so all you need to do is bind the receiver to a suitable transmitter, finish any last assembly, and fly!

This Bind-N-Fly Basic design is equipped with a Spektrum 2.4GHz DSMX® receiver including AS3X (Artificial Stabilization–3-aXis) technology that works behind the scenes to smooth out the results of wind and turbulence. The outcome is a heightened sense of stability and accuracy that makes you feel like you're flying a much bigger, expertly tuned aircraft.

If this is your very first design of its type, or you desire an extra margin of safety while acquainting yourself with the plane, you can make it possible for the optional-use SAFE® Select flight envelope defense technology constructed into the receiver. No shows is needed. Just change up the binding sequence as directed in the manual.

With SAFE Select allowed, you get:

Pitch and Bank Angle Limits
These envelope restricts keep the plane from rolling or pitching upside down. They also avoid excessive climb or dive angles.

Automatic Self-Leveling
The plane quickly goes back to and holds level flight when the sticks are released and in the center position. It's also practical for keeping the wings level during takeoffs/launches and landings.

Easy Change Task—No Complex Programming Required
The basic procedure for assigning a transmitter switch to turn SAFE Select features on and off does not require any complicated shows and takes simply a couple of seconds.

If you do not wish to make it possible for the SAFE Select features, simply bind the receiver typically and it will function like a standard AS3X receiver.
