Overview
The E-flite® Timber® X 1.2m unleashes a new era of STOL plus 3D aerobatic capability. Based upon the exceptionally popular Timber 1.5m design however featuring a new wing design, extra-large control surfaces plus a THREE and FOUR compatible power system, it provides an even wider flight envelope to provide a genuinely "mild to wild" experience. Hollow-core EPO building with composite support leads to a light-weight yet strong airframe that's capable of handling extreme aerobatic maneuvers while keeping the wing filling low for remarkable Brief Departure and Landing (STOL) and sluggish flight efficiency. It's also equipped with high-torque, metal-equipmented servos plus the shock-absorbing landing gear of the initial design so you can fly as aggressively as you desire from practically any surface. You can even set up the included leading edge slats for improved sluggish flight efficiency, or the optional floats (EFL5261, sold independently) so you can fly from water. Add in the LED landing, navigation and strobe lights plus many of the other popular features of the initial, and the Timber X is a design practically every pilot can value and enjoy!

eXtreme Maneuverability
The Timber® X 1.2m features a new wing design with a reduced span plus much larger ailerons and flaps, together with an enlarged elevator and rudder. Double-beveled hinge lines make it possible to deflect every control surface, consisting of the flaps that can now take a trip in both instructions, to high angles for outstanding control and eXtreme 3D aerobatic capability. Pockets in the rear of the fuselage and the included optional-use steel stabilizer joiner give you additional alternatives to tweak the design's efficiency for even wilder 3D setups–or on low rates the controls can be as smooth and docile as they are on the initial so you can fly as mild or as wild as you'd like!
 



eXtra Power
The factory-installed brushless power system features a 50-amp ESC plus a specially-tuned motor and prop that provide an abundance of thrust with a THREE LiPo battery, or bonus power and unlimited vertical efficiency with a FOUR battery without the need for any modifications or upgrades.
 







eXtremely Durable
Composite-reinforced, hollow-core building with EPO product provides a light-weight yet long lasting airframe. The Timber® X 1.2m is also equipped with high-torque, metal-equipmented servos plus the shock-absorbing landing gear and extra-large tundra-style wheels of the initial design so you can fly aggressively from practically any surface.
 



STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) Capable
The brand-new wing design has a much shorter span yet practically as much wing area as the initial, plus it features drooped wingtips and can be equipped with the included optional-use leading edge slats for improved sluggish flight and STOL efficiency. These features, together with the light-weight design, extra-large flaps and high-power brushless motor, make it possible to spring into the air or drift down to land in just two feet or less.
 







LED Lights
Like the initial, the Timber® X 1.2m features realistic-looking LED landing, navigation and strobe lights that are factory-installed and powered from the flight battery.
 



Optional Floats
Owners of an initial Timber® 1.5m design can use the float set it came with on the Timber X 1.2m, or the EDO-style float set is readily available independently (EFL5261) and includes the required installing struts plus a dual-rudder steering system for outstanding handling and simple takeoffs and landings on water.
 







Bind-N-Fly Completion Level Benefit
Already own a Spektrum™ transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) aircraft make entering into the air rapidly and with the very best control experience possible much easier than ever. They come out of the box with the power system, servos and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver set up so all you require to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, complete any final assembly, and fly!

This Bind-N-Fly Basic design is equipped with a Spektrum 2.4GHz DSMX® receiver featuring AS3X (Synthetic Stabilization–3-aXis) technology that works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence. The outcome is a heightened sense of stability and accuracy that makes you feel like you're flying a much larger, skillfully tuned aircraft.

If this is your first design of its type, or you desire an extra margin of safety while acquainting yourself with the aircraft, you can enable the optional-use SAFE® Select flight envelope defense technology built into the receiver. No programming is required. Just change up the binding sequence as directed in the manual.

With SAFE Select enabled, you get:

Pitch and Bank Angle Limits
These envelope restricts keep the aircraft from rolling or pitching upside down. They also prevent extreme climb or dive angles.

Automatic Self-Leveling
The aircraft quickly returns to and holds level flight when the sticks are launched and in the center position. It's also practical for keeping the wings level during takeoffs/launches and landings.

Easy Change Assignment—No Complex Programs Required
The easy treatment for designating a transmitter switch to turn SAFE Select features on and off does not require any complex programming and takes simply a couple of seconds.

If you don't want to enable the SAFE Select features, simply bind the receiver usually and it will operate like a standard AS3X receiver.
