The E-flite® F-16 Thunderbirds 80mm EDF (Electric Ducted Fan) is a Bonus Scale design based upon the single-seat F-16C variation which went into production in 1984. This reproduction is nearly as big as other 90mm EDF designs, yet the effective power system delivers better overall efficiency and longer flight times when using typical six 4000–7000mAh batteries. The fully-painted white plus red and blue surface reproduces the renowned Thunderbirds scheme in spectacular style, while Extra Scale information and practical features — including the most scale-like landing gear installed on an F-16 EDF design yet — combine to provide an unequaled flying experience!

Extra Scale information, including molded-in panel lines, simulated antennas, indications, sensing units and more, take realism to the next level. Functional Extra Scale features include LED navigation and landing lights, full-flying stabs, optional-use flaperons, sequenced gear doors plus the most scale-like retractable landing gear installed on an F-16 EDF design yet. Both variations include 9 factory-installed digital, metal-geared servos, and with the ARF Plus version you can set up the compatible receiver and an 80mm EDF power system of your choice — from another comparable class design or using other compatible components.

The BNF® Fundamental version includes a V2 12-blade 80mm fan, high-power 2100Kv brushless inrunner motor, and a 100-amp Spektrum Avian™ Smart ESC to provide great efficiency with popular six 4000–7000mAh LiPo batteries – plus an unbelievable turbine-like noise. This effective power system offers better efficiency and longer flight times than the 6S-compatible power systems used in similar-sized designs powered by 90mm EDFs. It's also geared up with a factory-installed Spektrum™ AR8360T receiver including exclusive AS3X® and optional-use SAFE® Select innovations. When using compatible transmitters, the receiver and Smart ESC supply overall battery voltage, existing, motor RPM and other telemetry data in real-time – with Smart and non-Smart batteries – together with optional-use motor reversing to shorten rollouts after landing and for other unique ground dealing with abilities. Constructed of molded EPO with plastic-capped strakes, hatch edges and openings to avoid damage to the fully-painted white plus red and blue surface during handling and when installing/removing batteries, this F-16 assembles without glue and can be all set to fly in much less time than other comparable class designs!

The exclusive Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart ESC offers a range of real-time power system related telemetry data including motor RPM, existing draw, overall flight battery voltage and more – with Smart and non-Smart batteries – via compatible Smart receivers (including the AR8360T installed in the BNF® Fundamental version) and Spektrum AirWare™ geared up transmitters (including the DX6e, DX8e, DX6 G2/3, DX8 G2, DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, iX12, iX14, iX20, and others) while you fly. It will even show individual cell voltages, temperature level of the flight pack and other data when using Spektrum Smart LiPo batteries. Plus, optional use thrust reversing can assist shorten rollout after landing and provides other unique ground dealing with abilities (7+ channel transmitter required for reversing). You can even set up the optional Spektrum GPS Telemetry Sensor to see speed, distance from house and other data in real-time too.
