Overview
The Opterra™ 2m flying wing is the collaborative effort of George Hicks and Mike McConville – two of design aviation's premier aircraft designers. Together, they have produced some of the very best flying RC airplanes in the world. This one is no exception. Its light-weight building and construction, long wingspan and effective aerodynamics give it a wide variety of capabilities that consists of everything from sport aerobatics to skyrocketing. Advanced Aerodynamics and Lightweight Construction
Central to the aircraft's incredible capabilities are the innovative aerodynamics that shaped its style. In addition to its effective airfoil, winglets and fins on the fuselage assist the design track true in all sort of air. Vortex generators near the leading edge of the top of the wing, and just ahead of the elevons on the bottom of the wing, enhance sluggish speed stability and control. The airframe itself is built of carbon-reinforced, hollow-core Z-Foam™ material that keeps weight to a minimum while maintaining strength and rigidity.

AS3X® Receiver with Optional-Use SAFE® Select Innovation
The design's AS3X (Synthetic Stabilization – 3-aXis) receiver works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence. The outcome is a sense of stability and accuracy that makes you seem like you're flying an expertly tuned aircraft.
