A collaboration between veteran RC airplane designer David Payne and Airplane Studio Style founder Mirco Pecorari, the original Leader mPd® 1.4m mixed traditional lines with contemporary influences for a one-of-a-kind sport flying experience. It's now updated and updated for more power and better control, and to include the benefits of Smart technology — making it more capable and fun to fly than previously! The brand-new brushless power system includes a 45-amp Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite ESC plus a specially-tuned motor to provide an abundance of thrust with a three LiPo battery, or more speed and unlimited vertical efficiency with a 4S battery. Control reaction, with stronger, more precise metal-geared servos, is so smooth and foreseeable that anybody going up from a fitness instructor will feel comfortable right now. The BNF® Basic version includes an AR631 receiver to provide real-time telemetry data along with AS3X® and SAFE® Select innovations. They desired it to stand out from the crowd while having the pilot-friendly flight characteristics of traditional sport airplanes. This updated and updated version is all that and more! Easy to remove, fly, and land, it's the ideal "next step" after a fitness instructor. In the hands of knowledgeable pilots, it's also capable of greater speeds and high-energy aerobatics. The three and 4S compatible brushless power system, integrated with a light wing loading plus factory-installed metal-geared servos and flaps, offers the Leader mPd 1.4m a wide flight envelope. It's smooth and foreseeable, with power to spare for performing rolling circles, knife-edge flight, and beyond. While you fly, the exclusive Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite ESC can offer a range of real-time power system associated telemetry data including motor RPM, current, battery voltage and more – with Smart and non-Smart batteries – by means of compatible receivers (including the Bind-N-Fly® Basic version's AR631) and Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters. The Bind-N-Fly® Basic version also provides the dealing with benefits of AS3X® and optional-use SAFE® Select innovations. An ingenious Hands-Free Servo Connection System instantly plugs in the aileron and flap servo ports when you install the two-piece wing with simply 4 bolts. The Leader mPd 1.4m shows up factory-finished in an exclusive Airplane Studio Style trim plan and needs no glue for assembly. That means you can have it prepared to fly in less time than it requires to charge a battery!





 






Smart Technology
The Leader mPd® 1.4m is equipped with an exclusive Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite ESC that can offer a range of real-time power system associated telemetry data including motor RPM, current, battery voltage and more – with Smart and non-Smart batteries – by means of compatible receivers (including the AR631) and Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, iX12, iX20 and others) while you fly.
 



Wide Flight Envelope
The light wing loading and factory-installed flaps interact to provide the design a wide flight envelope. Control reaction is so smooth and foreseeable that anybody making their "next step" from a fitness instructor will feel comfortable right now. More knowledgeable pilots will find that aerobatics like rolling circles, knife-edge flight and beyond feel crisp and precise and can be carried out with power to spare.
