A partnership in between veteran RC airplane designer David Payne and Aircraft Studio Design creator Mirco Pecorari, the initial Leader mPd® 1.4m blended traditional lines with modern impacts for a one-of-a-kind sport flying experience. It's now upgraded and updated for more power and much better control, and to include the advantages of Smart technology — making it more capable and fun to fly than in the past! The new brushless power system includes a 45-amp Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite ESC plus a specially-tuned motor to provide an abundance of thrust with a three LiPo battery, or more speed and limitless vertical efficiency with a four battery. Control action, with stronger, more accurate metal-geared servos, is so smooth and predictable that anyone moving up from a trainer will feel comfortable right away. The BNF® Fundamental variation consists of an AR631 receiver to provide real-time telemetry data in addition to AS3X® and SAFE® Select innovations. With these advantages and more, the Leader mPd 1.4m is the perfect next action, initially low wing, or daily sport design for a wide array of pilots!

They desired it to stand out from the crowd while having the pilot-friendly flight qualities of traditional sport airplanes. This upgraded and updated variation is all that and more! Easy to remove, fly, and land, it's the perfect "next action" after a trainer. In the hands of skilled pilots, it's also efficient in higher speeds and high-energy aerobatics. The three and 4S suitable brushless power system, combined with a light wing loading plus factory-installed metal-geared servos and flaps, offers the Leader mPd 1.4m a large flight envelope. It's smooth and predictable, with power to spare for carrying out rolling circles, knife-edge flight, and beyond. While you fly, the special Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite ESC can supply a range of real-time power system related telemetry data including motor RPM, present, battery voltage and more – with Smart and non-Smart batteries – by means of suitable receivers (including the Bind-N-Fly® Fundamental variation's AR631) and Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters. The Bind-N-Fly® Fundamental variation also uses the handling advantages of AS3X® and optional-use SAFE® Select innovations. An ingenious Hands-Free Servo Connection System instantly plugs in the aileron and flap servo ports when you set up the two-piece wing with just 4 bolts. The Leader mPd 1.4m shows up factory-finished in a special Aircraft Studio Design trim plan and needs no glue for assembly. That suggests you can have it ready to fly in less time than it requires to charge a battery!





 





Exclusive Technologies
The BNF® Fundamental variation is equipped with special Spektrum™ AS3X® and SAFE® Select innovations. AS3X works behind the scenes to ravel the results of wind and turbulence to provide a locked-in feel that makes it look like you're flying a much bigger plane. Optional-use SAFE Select uses pitch and bank angle limitations in addition to automated self-leveling that can be turned on and off at the flip of a switch! And if you don't wish to make it possible for the SAFE Select functions, merely bind the receiver normally and only AS3X will be active.
 







Smart Technology
The Leader mPd® 1.4m is equipped with a special Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart Lite ESC that can supply a range of real-time power system related telemetry data including motor RPM, present, battery voltage and more – with Smart and non-Smart batteries – by means of suitable receivers (including the AR631) and Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6, 8 and 10, iX12, iX20 and others) while you fly.
 



Wide Flight Envelope
The light wing loading and factory-installed flaps work together to offer the design a large flight envelope. Control action is so smooth and predictable that anyone making their "next action" from a trainer will feel comfortable right away.
