Introduction
The Truman Senate War Examining Committee called the North American Aviation P-51 Mustang “the most aerodynamically best pursuit airplane out there.” During WWII, it blasted trains, ships, and enemy installations throughout Western Europe. The “D” variant, outfitted with the legendary Merlin engine, gave the U.S. Army Air Forces a high-altitude, long-range fighter capable of escorting heavy bomber formations the whole way to Berlin and back. The E-flite® P-51D Mustang 1.5m also goes the distance — to replicate the well-known fighter with extraordinary information, handling, efficiency and existence. It's loaded with Additional Scale information and functional features including LED lights, sequenced primary and tailwheel equipment doors, flaps and far more, and is also geared up with a Spektrum™ Bird™ Smart ESC to provide an unequaled warbird flying experience.

The P-51D Mustang 1.5m is the biggest, most in-depth and best carrying out replica of the legendary fighter from E-flite® yet! Along with a precise summary, it also includes an abundance of Additional Scale information including formed in panel lines and hatches, guns and removable drop tanks, plus a striking factory-applied “Lou IV” finish. Practical Additional Scale features consist of LED navigation lights, sequenced primary and tailwheel equipment doors, flaps and more. The shock-absorbing struts include ball-bearing equipped wheels with diamond tread tires for added scale appearance and make it possible to fly from a variety of surfaces including grass, and reliable electrical retracts run the primary equipment and tailwheel. And at the heart of all of it is a factory-installed brushless motor that's compatible with SIX LiPo power—simply drop in a 6S 3200-7000mAh battery to achieve level flight speeds in excess of 80+ MPH and limitless vertical efficiency! Both versions consist of a 100-amp Spektrum™ Bird™ Smart ESC, and the BNF® Basic variation is also geared up with an AR637TA receiver that provides full-range telemetry including real-time battery voltage, existing, temperature and more to compatible transmitters, plus the benefits of unique AS3X® and SAFE® Select innovations to make this one of the simplest to fly Mustangs ever. AS3X works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence to provide a locked-in feel that makes it seem like you're flying a much larger aircraft. Optional-use SAFE Select provides pitch and bank angle limitations in addition to automated self-leveling that can be turned on and off at the flip of a switch making this one of the simplest to fly P-51s yet! And if you don't want to enable the SAFE Select features, simply bind the receiver typically and only AS3X will be active.

Pitch and Bank Angle Limits
These envelope limits keep the aircraft from rolling or pitching upside down. They also avoid extreme climb or dive angles.

Automatic Self-Leveling
The aircraft immediately returns to and holds level flight when the sticks are launched and in the center position. It's also helpful for keeping the wings level during takeoffs/launches and landings.

Easy Switch Project- No Programming Required
The simple treatment for designating a transmitter switch to turn SAFE Select features on and off doesn't require any shows and takes just a couple of seconds.

If you don't want to enable the SAFE Select features, just bind the receiver typically and it will operate like a standard AS3X receiver.
