The UV-82 series has upped the bar on cost effective ham radio innovation! Compared to previous BaoFeng products (UV-5R, GT-3, and the v2+ Series) the UV-82 includes a much louder speaker (1 watt), a far more strong case with larger buttons, and a brand-new chipset and PCB board that outshines the range, accuracy, and output of the previous BaoFeng chipsets. It is not just a remake but a brand-new radio from the ground up. It outshines the the 2nd Gen UV-5R chipset (used in the UV-5Rs, GT-3 BF-F8+, and v2+ series).

The UV-82HP is the 2nd generation of the timeless UV-82 Series. Some brand-new features found in the UV-82HP are the 3 selectable power levels (Low - 1 watt, Medium - 5 watt, High- 7 watt) enabling a high-output of 7 watts.

The UV-82 Series feature a double push-to-talk button. The dual PTT is a substantial leap forward in the HT innovation. It allows you to transmit on 2 frequencies by the use of the rocker PTT switch. By pressing up you can transmit on "Frequency A" and by lowering you can transmit on "Frequency B". Frequency A or B can also be used as a scanner of channels, frequencies, CTCSS and DTS tones.

On the BaoFeng UV-82C you are able to integrate the PTT button to make it possible for single Push-to-Talk communications.
