The UV-82 series has upped the bar on affordable ham radio innovation! Compared to previous BaoFeng items (UV-5R, GT-3, and the v2+ Series) the UV-82 features a much louder speaker (1 watt), a much more solid case with bigger buttons, and a brand-new chipset and PCB board that exceeds the range, precision, and output of the previous BaoFeng chipsets. It is not just a remake however a brand-new radio from the ground up. It exceeds the the second Gen UV-5R chipset (used in the UV-5Rs, GT-3 BF-F8+, and v2+ series).

The UV-82HP is the 2nd generation of the timeless UV-82 Series. Some new features discovered in the UV-82HP are the three selectable power levels (Low - 1 watt, Medium - 5 watt, High- 7 watt) permitting a high-output of 7 watts.

The UV-82 Series come with a dual push-to-talk button. The dual PTT is a huge leap forward in the HT innovation. It allows you to transfer on two frequencies by the usage of the rocker PTT switch. By pushing up you can transfer on "Frequency A" and by pushing down you can transfer on "Frequency B". Frequency A or B can also be used as a scanner of channels, frequencies, CTCSS and DTS tones.

On the BaoFeng UV-82C you are able to integrate the PTT button to allow single Push-to-Talk communications.
