The UV-82 series has upped the bar on cost effective ham radio innovation! Compared to previous BaoFeng items (UV-5R, GT-3, and the v2+ Series) the UV-82 comes with a much louder speaker (1 watt), a much more solid case with larger buttons, and a new chipset and PCB board that exceeds the variety, accuracy, and output of the previous BaoFeng chipsets. It is not just a remake however a new radio from the ground up. It exceeds the the second Gen UV-5R chipset (utilized in the UV-5Rs, GT-3 BF-F8+, and v2+ series).

The UV-82HP is the second generation of the classic UV-82 Series. Some brand-new functions discovered in the UV-82HP are the three selectable power levels (Low - 1 watt, Medium - 5 watt, High- 7 watt) allowing for a high-output of seven watts.

The UV-82 Series come with a dual push-to-talk button. The dual PTT is a substantial leap forward in the HT innovation. It permits you to transmit on two frequencies by the use of the rocker PTT switch. By pressing up you can transmit on "Frequency A" and by pushing down you can transmit on "Frequency B". Frequency A or B can also be utilized as a scanner of channels, frequencies, CTCSS and DTS tones.

On the BaoFeng UV-82C you have the ability to integrate the PTT button to allow single Push-to-Talk communications.
